Prolactin hormone related in any way to UC?

I recently have a tumor removed from my pituitary gland - endonasal surgery.  The tumor produced extremely high levels of the hormone Prolactin.  I did some googling on the effects of Prolactin and the immune system - and found some links:  http://rphr.endojournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/57/1/435?ck=nck

Has anyone ever done any research into this?  I couldnt beleive I found a link between the PL levels and the immune system.

I wonder if my tumor could have been a trigger? 

Anyway - I thought it might be interesting to some to have a look into it?

I did have a problem with my Prolactin levels being extremely high about four or five years ago....a few years before being diagnosed with the UC.  I don't know if there's any connection or not.  I was having a lot of headaches and they did an MRI to look for a pituitary tumor but said everything was fine.

I do feel differently since the removal - lots more energy since my testosterone levels are back to normal now.

I recently had a flare however and felt like crap again....I think the flare was from the overall stress of the surgery.

I was just diagnosed with a pituitary tumor. It is growth hormone secreting tumor and not a prolactin secreting tumor. I started treatment to shrink the tumor. Endonasal surgery won't be for another 3-4 months.

Somehow I had done a few posts here about prolactin...I found something that made me wonder about that link also. By the way, the book I am reading "Wheat Belly" talks about prolactin, and somehow wheat (perhaps the genetically modified, hybridized breed nowadays) can increase this also.

Another reason to be very suspicious of processed foods and wheat and UC in my opinion. Obviously, in the case of a confirmed tumor doing this you have your answer. I just wanted to chime in that there is a connection with prolactin re:wheat intake in this book i'm reading.

I would be very concerned about high levels as a male for this reason :

"Unusually high amounts are suspected to be responsible for impotence and loss of libido (see hyperprolactinemia symptoms)."
