Thanks to princesa for the thread that lead here. You were talking about dreams in which your teeth were crumbling and your mouth was full of pieces of broken teeth. I have had that dream for YEARS. And now it's happening to me.
I was on Prednisone for more than 20 years, off and on, for 'connective tissue undifferentiated' which meant I was pre-rheumatoid arthritis, pre-osteoarthritis, pre-lupus, pre-osteoporosis, and pre-lots of other stuff. My dosage was as low as 5mg daily to the usual 40mg taper for flairs. Had all the side effects, got really depressed about it.
My teeth became sensitive and I thought it was my fibromyalgia making me feel everything more, (yes, breathing was a big problem because I work outside, even in extreme temperatures and the cold nearly did me in last year), but I don't think so now. I was off Pred for 5 years but had to go back on it because Embrel caused me to not be able to get rid of infections I keep getting. Now I wake up and have pieces of teeth in my mouth. Not every day, mind you, but sometimes. The front surface of my front teeth is chipping off and there are cracks that run VERTICALLY on my two front teeth. Pieces just chipped off at the bottom of where a crack had formed and now I guess it will lead to losing my teeth because I'm on Disability and that means Medicaid with no dental insurance. So all those years before any of these health problems showed, when I was having those terrible dreams, I should have read them as warnings. My liver now is showing troubling signs. And I'm still on Prednisone.
