Pregnancy after j-pouch surgery with severral repairs

Hi, my name is Marianne and I want to have baby but have lots of fears. I have had 11 major abdominal surgeries - 5 8 inch lateral and 6 5 inch vertical - to repair my pouch 3 times. Only way to get pregnant is through invitro with so much scar tissue. Anybody been here before? I want to have a baby. I have a 5 year old and then my body gave up on me and surgery was the only way to go. Any advice? Most of my doctors, not all, say it would be a difficult pregnacy. But I really want it. Anyone out there at all who can tell me anything?

Hi Marianne, welcome to Healingwell :) I'm so sorry you've had to deal with so much! We only have a small handful of people on the Uc forum that has actually had the pouch surgery. Maybe they will answer you soon, but in the meantime, we also have an Ostomy forum here on Healingwell that the members might be able to answer your questions too. Also there is www.jpouch.org if you haven't visited that site yet.
