Hi everyone - hope everyone had a nice Christmas holiday. Christmas was ok -- he got through Monday and Tuesday fairly well. Today was a good day when he woke up.
He played pickelball again today. I am reporting on this once again as he told me today after he came home that he really thinks the exercise is definitely making a difference. Once he got home he had to go to the bathroom.
This is the 3rd time playing and afterwards it must shake things up in there as he is having full movements with minor pain and discomfort in comparison to his normal days when he doesn't exercise.
So there is something to this exercise thing that others have been reporting that they have resumed when they started to feel better. His doctors have recommended he try to get out and exercise as well. It is an effort, he is tired afterwards but it does appear that it is beneficial.
Fortunately for him he has this UC in some sort of partial remission which is enabling him for the first time to be able to get out there and exercise. So for those of you who start to feel better and have some control exercise might help. He still has moments at home or if we are out that he needs to get to a bathroom but not like before when he wasn't sure if he could make it or not. Most times it is gas with little or no stool but the urgency makes it that you can't take a chance and need that bathroom.
