Scared and worried.

Almost a year ago after having bad palpitations my EKG showed an enlargement in the left ventricle but after monitoring my BP and finding it within high normal range, the doctor decided to send me for an ECHO.  I waited 10 months for this test and finally had it today.  After the test was finished I asked how it was and she wouldn't tell me but said the doctors would have to examine the results first, which I know was a normal response but still I am worried because I have had crohns for many years and have been on prednisone for almost as long and have to wonder if the disease or medication had some effect on my heart.

I hate the waiting and the worry.

Hi and thank you for the reply.  I got the results of my echo and the doctor said he doesn't see anything unusual.  He thinks I got the enlargement when I was anemic 4 years back which incidently was caused by being overfluidated for CD dehydration when I was in ER.  (long story) 

Is the test you are referring to a common one?  I wonder if it's availble in Canada?  Is it done in Dr's offices or is it a home test?
