PFO

I was just diagnosed. On a scale of 1 to 5, I am a 5 for air going across the heart. I have always had irregular heart beats which drive me crazy. Just wondered if most people have this same symptom. For people who have already had the procedure are you glad you did it?  

I was diagnosed with a PFO this in August after an MRI showing multiple TIA's... They were looking for MS. I've right side numbness/tingling and muscle spasticity with pain and other symptoms. My Neuro only detected the TIA's and with my normal blood pressure recommended a visit to a cardiologist for PFO. I am 46 with a 23 year old and a 5 year old... Pretty healthy until the symptoms showed in late June... I thought I threw my back out or I was just getting old :). My cardiologist did an echo/bubble and discovered the PFO. Sent me to another Cardio/Surgeon for a TEE where they found nothing. Weird. He sent me home... Next day after my consultation with him he had viewed the tape of my previous echo/bubble that showed a clear PFO and he said it was "large enough to drive a truck through"... I tell all of you this so that you are aware that not all the tests that are supposed to be the definitive tests are always accurate. My cardio/surgeon has now scheduled me without question a closure. With my multiple TIA's and anemia... I really don't/can't risk the fear or chance of a major stroke... November 19th is my scheduled date... I am ready to get on with my health... This has been utterly ridiculous... Like a wake up call. "A Hole in The Heart?". The Universe is talking to me and I am listening. Blessings to all of you who are going through all of the emotional and physical issues of your situations!
