Plavix, Protonix, Stents??

Greetings:

I'm usually encamped at the MS site, but my husband has heart disease (FIVE STENTS smhair   smhair )

and takes various heart, blood pressure, diabetes and stomach meds (we are keeping the pharmaceutical industry alive at least). Today I saw a news item about folks with stents and also take Plavix AND Protonix are at greater risk for heart attacks. confused

Anyone know anything about this????

I have stents and take plavix but not protonix but I'd like to know more about the artical .

I dont know, but after I a heart attack, they also found out I had a terrible amount of acid in my stomach, after having three stents put in I was put on plavix and 2 protonix and 4 carafate pills a day plus all the other meds I take that was in 2003. I havent had another attack, knock on wood. Im surprised we arent all gone with all the meds they give us. I think at one time they had me on 22 pills a day.

My husband had the stents a few years ago. While in the recovery room he suffered a mild heart atach shocked and they had to go back in. He smokes, is too sedentary, and is due for another stress test next week. Keeping my fingers crossed!
