coumadin and intestinal bleeding

Hi--
Just posted on my usual forum at colitis, but wondered if anyone here could help me.

I've had atrial flutter for a few months, now going into a-fib sometimes. I'm supposed to go for ablation and be put on coumadin as soon as possible, but I'm in a flare-up of colitis and have
rectal bleeding from that. Have had to postpone the ablation until the bleeding stops.

Can't take meds for the a-fib as my heart rate falls to mid-30's at night. Anyone else have
these kinds of problems? It's really getting me down, especially since I have a very stressful situation as home right now. Bummer.

Tough question as you need the coumadin for the A-Fib but you have colitis which has high risk of bleeding. I assume you are having your blood level checked to keep your Coumadin in the right range.

I would certainly discuss this with your Cardiologist. I wish you luck and do understand your frustration.

Hi I have a-fib and am on cartizam for it and warfarin. I am waiting for an assessment of my heart monitor as my heart rate goes too slow at times. My cardiologist said I may need a pacemaker that would be useful only when my heart goes too slow.
