help with pericarditis pain/diagnosis

Hi,  I am hoping someone can help me.   I was diagnosed mth ago with small effusion pericarditis, and was treating it with anti-inflams.   not much pain relief,  now the pain is getting worse, almost constant pressure, trouble swallowing,  talking alot makes it hard to breath and painful.....  and the sternum pain now goes right thru to the back between the shoulder blades.   I am waiting for another cardiologist referral,  and am wondering if i should be going to the Emerg. dept or not...   dr. put me on oxycodene for pain, but didnt want to use much of that nasty stuff....   any ideas?

Thanks. I think I will go to the er in a larger center and hopefully they will assign me a cardiologist then. This pain is hard to take and it's going on 3 mths! My last chest xray also showed something in bottom of right lung. Dr thought pneumonia but could it be pleural effusion? Didn'tknow if that showed on xrays or not. Thanks again

DOn't feel bad I have micro valve prolapse since I was a child never bother me. But I was recently on a study for ICS and had several EKG done which all came back abnormal also wore a halter which came back with spikes and drops in heart rate. Well that was the last time I have been to heart doctor due to cost and bill for test I will have to pay for the rest of my life. But have had nothing done and have chest pain that comes on sudden and hurts so bad I am in a ball on the floor nauseaed I also get gas pains alot. The doctor thinks it is my IBS or GallStones which the ultrasound showed no gallstones. But I am just waiting to the day that it does not go away and it is my heart.The longest it has lasted was an hour and getting in a ball with my heating pad eases it up enough that I will pass out because I went from hurting so bad to being able to handle it my body is telling me to go to sleep but have woke me up out of dead sleep several times hopefully it is not my heart but I have a feeling it is since gallstones was negative but my doctor insist he is right and it is not my heart. I also have swelling from under my heart in a straight line down my stomach to my belly button my lymph nodes in my neck and legs stay swollen been over a year and has not went down. My sugar levels keep spiking and dropping my bones my feet are broke out and hands, excess thirst and past few months keep getting a sharp pressure pain that keeps coming and going in my head behind my right ear and moves up and makes my right eye start twitching. Feel like something is really wrong but feel like dr think I am making this up since I have so many other issues wrong with me.
