Hello Ilashes I had read your experience with your heart, let me tell you that I had very similar story...at 35 I was diagnose with a supraventricular tachycardia...the put me on medication at that time and send me to and electrophysiology’s in the Jackson Memorial Florida for an evaluation...the doctor suggested in that moment an electrophysiology study or mapping it was needed ..he explained to me the procedure and I was scare to death.. have two small kids that moment and I was afraid to die ...I cancel my appointment and ran away from there...time past...last year at 42 my husband rush me to ER , I had and episode as dramatic as yours, the last one was very strong and the IV medication that they gave me didn’t work they have to double the dose and it work but I felt sooooo bad…terrible… that I have to think again in the electrophysiology evaluation.....at that time I was medicated also I never thought that it will repeat on medication.....wrong!!! it did and it was worse that before ...the doctors said that the medication didn’t guarantee that it will not repeat again....I was very anxious. That was terrible I was waiting to happen in any moment again.....then I decide to go visit the electrophysiology Dr. that they recommended. I went to Cleveland Clinic in Florida I meet the Dr. and make and appointment for the exam...the found 5 different places in my heart that cause me the tachycardia…he make the ablation….you do not feel anything….I saw all the procedure ….I was sedated but awake all the time. I went in the hospital at 6:am and I was in my hotel at 2:30 pm…no medication never again my heart was fine ,brand new…it has been a year since that and I feel great!!!!
I was thinking all the time in my kids…because of them I did it… my quality of life has change …I’m always been very active person …sports and outdoor living with my family and I feel a great sensation of freedom since I had the ablation…I had no problems at all.
What I will recommend to you is to have and insurance(is very expensive procedure) and a great Dr. with vast experience in the field and go for it!!!!
If you need more info and any ???please do not hesitate to ask me
Now I’m going through similar experience with my 13 year old kid…looking for answers for him.
