Hello Everyone

I am new to this forum ..my name is Nazter and I just have some concerns.

I went to the clinic this weekend for stomach pains and the doctor told me that it could be gallbladder but he also wanted to do an ECG just to check.

The ECG he said is normal for me...lol ... When I looked at it ..it said normal sinus rythem ...non specific st abnormality ..so I didnt know what that ment but I got a copy and brought it to my GP..

 

My GP compared it to one done in Oct 2011 April 2012 June 2012 and now Oct 2012 they all say the same thing ...she told me that there is nothing to worry about and that it is not dangerous ...that they get a lot of readings like this ...still I told her I was not comfortable with that response and I wanted to get some testing done by a cardiologist.she agreed as she knows I would not let it go...she said I can continue to work out and do everything I do now..not to worry ....

 

Recent Blood Work - All Normal

Urine - All normal

Blood Pressure - Normal

ECG -NON Specific ST abnormal ..

Heart Rate - Normal

Sinus Rythem Normal

So I am abit confused ..so abit of history on me ...

40 YR OLD Women

Suffer from anxiety and panic attacks.

Costocondritis

Tyroid

128 Pd

5'1

Speed walk 3x a week for 30 min ...mother of 2 ...

Any suggestions or similar stories are welcome.

Ok ...so I have my heart ultrasound this coming saturday with the cardiologist then meet with him on the 27th ...wish me luck and hopefully it is nothing serious.

Some times these changes occur for conditions, which are either ill defined or they may be compatible with total normalcy and therefore, these changes are called non-specific ST-T wave changes.

I would suspect that your Cardiac ultrasound may be just fine but I know you will feel better after meeting with the cardiologist.

Be breath and know you only have a couple of days to go before your test.

Hello There

Well I did my ultrasound and now it is the waiting game I hate it ...so scary ...I have to do something ...so I figure I will tell myself what ever will be will be I cannot change the outcome even if I wanted to ...although i tell myself this I have to make myself beleive it ...

I will myself to think positive thoughts ....and hopefully it will all be normal and nothing ...

I am tired of being afraid not to do anything ...so I have decided to walk again on my lunch ...the GP and ER doc both told me nothing was wrong so I can continue to walk and work out and that is what I am going to do ...

27TH IS 11 days away and hopefully on that day the Cardiologist will tell me that the ultrasound was normal...and that I have a healthy heart ...

any words of wisdom is appreciated and if anyone has had something similar I would lov to hear from you .

Glad to hear you are not going to let keep fear from getting out and moving again.  You did get good results from the Drs. you have seen so I would start out slow and then, under your Drs. instructions, advance your walking to what you like to do.

Hello All

So it is afew days away from getting my results at the cardiologist but I have afew questions maybe you guys can help me with.

Below is what my ECG said -GP and ER doc said it was normal for me..


Vent rate 89 pbpm
pr interval 130 ms
qrs duration 68 ms
qt/qtc 352/428ms
p.tr.t axes 79 62 68

Normal Sinus Rhythm
Nonspecific ST abnormality
Abnormal ECG

Does this look ok????????

Also I have a dentist appointment this wednesday and I was told by a friend that if you have some sort of Heart problems that you need to notify the dentist as you will have to take antibiotics...now I dont see the cardiologist till Sat ...and I called their office but the receptionist said that all my results are sent to my family GP but I will still have to see the cardiologist on Sat...why???? if the results are normal why would I have to go back to him ???

Any suggestions or ideas or similar stories....

Anxious which is not good.....and everytime I go to a dr or do ECG or blood pressure it is always high because I panic each and every time ...dont know why....

Trying to guess what the numbers mean is not good for you, for me or for anyone that is going to try to guess what they mean.  Even slightly abnormal readings on many test results or lab results can be OK and each person will have a range that they fall into.

I know my Potassium runs low but no reason has ever been identified for why.  My Dr. checks it freqeuntly and I also can tell if I feel lightheaded that my Potassium may need to be checked. 

The more we fret and stew and worry the higher our anxiety goes and pretty soon we are on the vicious merry-go-round of high anxiety.

Let us know when you get your report from the Dr.

Hi Everyone ..S

Sorry I have been away from the boards for awhile ...I just wanted to come on and first off thank everyone for their support and words of wisdom ...secondly to update everyone on what is going on ...

So as follows

Seen cardiologist oct 2012 for ultrasound results -

 All is normal no blockages or anything ...he said I can run a marathon if I wanted to ...

That being said ...as the months have gone by the anxiety and thoughts and pain remain ...had an episode in Feb went back to ER they did ECG came back same as before ...normal sinus rythem non specific st abnormailities ..they told me it was my costo and sent me on my way ...

I have been working out here and there but nothing solid till just recently always due to the fear..

Had another episode again in May and again ecg came back the same way and troponin test is negative...they said it was my costo ...ok ..so my concern is that they are missing something ..tell you why ...

April 2011-ECG came back with high heart rate otherwise normal

April 2012 ECG came back with normal sinus rythem non specific st abnormaility...so how does it go from Normal to that and they still think this is fine ???? Obviously it is not...

I am still not comfortable with this ...anyone else have this or have any suggestions,.

It is good to see you here in the forum. To the best of my knowledge, non-specific ST changes are very common. The good news is your heart rate, rhythm as well as your ultrasound are all normal.

How have you been treating your Costco ?

If you are truly concerned re your heart perhaps a second opinion would reassure you.
