My heart rate over the last year has gone up from 80 to high 90s. At the same time my BP has gone down from 128/80 or so to 105/68. This has been constant for half the year and had been very consistent for the years before.
In the last 3 years I have had multiple surgeries, several on intestines, one for paraesophageal hernia, causing me to lose weight, but only 15 lbs. My weight is holding steady at BMI 22. I now have a colostomy.
I saw my cardiologist a few days ago and he didn't seem concerned. He only said I was the "poster child" for cholesterol control, where I used to have consistently bad numbers.
I have changed my diet to mainly vegetables, no bread, mainly because I don't tolerate beef and pork and am tired of chicken. Fish is OK if I don't have to cook it. I don't tolerate soy and am not supposed to eat nuts. I eat more salt than I used to but still not much.
Is weight loss a possible cause of this change?
