Hi my name is Beverly,and I was 37 when I experienced
Congestive Heart Failure almost died gained 75 lbs in 5 days,made it through it that time .. It has been 4 years ago And my heart went into failure again along with my liver . The Cardiologist in Nashville gave me 10% chance of pulling through but after 3 months of being med flown to hospital 5 times my liver is doing better but my heart is a little better , now I am schedule for Surgury Tuesday for a diffibulator. Anybody could tell me do you feel when your heart is being shocked and if there is things that will set it off !!! Thanks everyone !

Hi. I have had mine sine June 2012. I have never had a shock but mine is also a pacer so it will try to pace my heart 5 -6 times before it has to shock. My 6 month reading has only showed it has had to pace 1 time while I was asleep. I did not feel it pacing. I cannot tell you what a shock feels like because I have not had one. However, I do feel safer with this implant. I am 51 years old and if it helps keep my heart in check I am all for it!

Also the surgery is no biggie. The only thing I felt was when they had to test it and it did shock however had relaxers in my system but still felt it. Only lasted a couple seconds and no pain after.

Good luck and learn to trust it. You will have a normal life with it!
