First time svt attack

Hello there. I just got my first attack of svt where my heart went up to 240 beats per minute. I was taken into hospital where they slowed it down with Adenosine. The question i ask is after attacks did anyone who's suffered with this get pains and twinches in your chest for a while after. I get weird pains and sharp shooting pains still and my heart doesn't feel right. Still very tired and feel weird. I've got an appointment with the cardiologist in January. Just worried my heart is going to give up. If anyone has any words on this it would be appreciated. Thank you for reading :)

Hi.....I had the same thing but in my case I had open heart surgery 4 years ago.  6 months ago I went into sudden vtach at 228 bpm and could not get it down with any drugs in the er.  they had to stop my heart and shock me back.  I spent 7 days in the hospital and finally left with a medronic defillabrater pacemaker.  I have since lost 30 lbs. and can breathe so much easier.  I do not know if I can breath better due to the defillabrater or from losing 30 lbs.  All I can say is I feel so much safer with a defillabrator.  I am not afraid of shocks....if it happens, it happens.  My docs say I feel better because the implant is pacing my heart to normal.....OK.....I'll take it.  I am 51 and have a lot more living to do.  Ask me anything.  I have been through it all!

And sorry....oh yes...the chest pains. rapid heart.  twinges and feeling of shock......anxiety.  try to relay but after you see the cardio doc.  rule out everything first before you say it is anxiety.  when you do, just try your best to deal with it.

i have suffered from svt's since i was 19. Been on and off medication over the years. If i had a prolonged attack i to suffered pains in my chest and left arm but they usually wore off after a few days. I had a successful ablation 4 weeks ago and so far im feeling really good. No svt's or palpatations at all since and im off medication. I am now 42 so i have lived with the condition for a long time and i know how scary it can be. Anxiety can make you worse too so try to relax. hugs

Hey thanks for the replys. Ihaven't had an attack since that date and everything seems to be going well. Is it possible just to have one off attacks and not suffer from it again?

I get svt attacks from my food intolerances - physical intolerance to hard foods like beef and chemical ones from sulfite preservatives. I've been given the adenosine treatment, not fun. My cardiologist hasn't seen any problems on monitoring, but I get brief tach if I'm not careful about what I eat.

I had chest pain, tiredness for a while after the cardioversion. I get it after a long run of tach too. I never worried about the short attacks until one triggered a heart attack - coronary artery spasm. Getting my cholesterol down with diet has lessened my attack frequency and I can do more cardio-exercise now.

If you have more symptoms your doc may want to put you on a beta blocker to see if it helps.
