Hi y'all,
I had a very....ummm....interesting doctor appt. I told my cardio what happened yesterday. I also had some tachy today...got to 143. That lasted a while and I told him that. He listened to my heart and told me I was definatly having tachy again. He put me back on the Verapamil and now I'm gonna take it morning and evening.
He said I'm a difficult case. (My pcp could have told him that. ) For most ppl, a second ablation isn't even necessary and for those who need it, it usually works. I asked him about my heart rate...at this point, I don't know what's bad or not. I've had my pulse up to 230 so 140 is slow to me anymore. He told me that is my pulse is above 120 and stays there, it will damage my heart. If the drugs don't work, then I'd need another ablation. He isn't sure that would work though. He thinks if the drugs don't work, then my best option would be to ablate the node completely and put in a pacemaker. That's not really what I wanted to hear. I do hope the verapamil will work. I don't want a pacemaker and I really don't want to damage my heart. Arg! Not the news I needed the day before my birthday.
Jules, thank you so much for those words of encoragement. I needed to hear that. I do hope these are just temporary runs. What happened this morning kinda worried me with how long it lasted. I'm trying to stay optimistic about this. I do hope this worked.
Lil
