All tests normal, but could I still have had a heart attack?

This is horrible. I get unexplained bruises.. usually three all at once on my lower left leg, upper left arm and upper right arm accompanied by excruciating pain in my arms and legs, and heaviness in the centre of my chest, pain that comes and goes, and it is a lot of pain. Also under my left breast I have what looks like blue veins and discolouration. Well the other day I had this awful chest pain and bruising really bad and it was accompanied by a feeling of utter dread and for no reason at all, I mean.. I was trying to keep calm. I also have pain in my neck which is constant.

Yet my ECG and blood tests came back absolutely NORMAL.

What is going on?

I am going for a stress test around the 20th of August and I don't know what to expect. Is it possible to have a heart attack with normal blood test and ECG? HELP!!!

I am wondering what the DR. feels may be causing this type of bruising?  I am familiar with disorders that cause bruising but your lab work was fine and usually with a bleeding disorder you will see some change on the lab work.

I have never experienced anything like this and I hope your August 20th test may find something that would help the Drs. come to a conclusion re your sx.

To the best of my knowledge,  unless the EKG is being run while  you are having the heart attack, then it may be possible you could have a mild heart attack and afterward have a normal EKG.

Was your blood checked for elevated levels of troponin (cardiac muscle proteins that, when elevated, are a real indicator of a heart attack)?  I would guess that this blood test was run. The troponin test measures the levels of certain proteins called troponin T and troponin I in the blood. These proteins are released when the heart muscle has been damaged, such as a heart attack. The more damage there is to the heart, the greater the amount of troponin T and I there will be in the blood.

The troponin test may also be done to help detect and evaluate other causes of heart injury.

I cannot tell you what is going on but I would strongly advice you to keep on advocating for yourself and if your next test is normal and you are still having the same issues seek out another physician for a second opinion.
