Hi,
40 yrs male here. No past cardiac related history. I'm normally slim, but leading a sedentary life style. Non-smoker, non-drinker, vegetarian. No major physical activities, with terrible stress, anxiety and worries.
During a general health checkup, the echo reading for EFR came as 60%. All the other readings were intact and normal, with one impression saying "reduced diastolic compliance". The ECG was normal showing 84 bpm.
1. Is it normal to have 60% as EFR for my age? My elder siblings who are 10 yrs older than me are having 75%.
2. The doctor says it is age related and nothing to get worried on "reduced diastolic compliance", especially when all the other readings are within the reference range. When asked about
follow-up, he says I can do the tests again only after 2 or 3 years. Is he right? How periodically, we should do the cardiac tests?
3. I was having cold and fever and taking antibiotics and anti-depressants 1 or 2 days before the echo test. Can this impact the echo reading?
4. Can dieting, too much water intake, stress, depression, anxiety, constant worry impact the EFR?
5. What are the ways I can keep the heart health, and maintain good EFR?
Thanks.
