New to Ascending Thoracic Aneurysm

Hi everyone,
I was recently diagnosed with a 4.2 ascending thoracic aneurysm. Am a 46yr old female with high bp and high cholesterol which I am on medication for - am about 20lbs over ideal weight. Have recently been tested for rheumatoid arthritis (get results on wed). This week ended up in hospital with chest pains going into neck shoulder, back and arm. They did cts and surmised that it was not my heart and released me, still in pain. I am still dealing with chest neck and back pain which worsens when I move. Could it be my pesky aneurysm that is causing the pain??

Would appreciate the feedback.

g'day, see my post from baseball fan on the topic, (intense pain in the center of back between shoulder blades from thoracic aortic aneurysm), I wonder the same thing about back pain and thoracic aneurysms...

I am a 37 year old male, (who besides having a enlarged ascending aorta, with 2 buldges measuring 4.3, a hole in my heart and atrial fibrillation problems, and buldging and degenerated discs in my back) I'm otherwise pretty healthy... LOL.. I jog and exercise and am actually underweight.. I walk alot too, the jogging is starting to make me paranoid...

I had my ascending thoracic aortic aneurysm repaired with a polyester graft three years ago when I was 39. I had chest and arm pain symptoms. But aneurysms are tricky to decide when to repair etc, things to talk to your doctor about are your family history, rate of growth of the aneurysm, also your body stature, I am short so my aneurysm at 47mm was needing to be repaired, along with many other contributing factors. If you are 6 feet with 47mm aneurysm that is growing slowly they probably won't repair it. However getting a second opinion from a specialist is always good to consider. Aneurysms rarely cause symptoms though and they a finicky so defiantly talk to an expert this is just my story and what I learned on my journey
