Hey guys I was wondering if you could help me out here. I was wondering if I have pericarditis.

For the past year and two months, I have been having chest pain and shortness of breath(especially when lying down). I can exercise or walk for a long time because I get shortness of breath bad. After I go to sleep, the chest pain disappears for a little until i become active again. Any movement of my left arm or my left chest area causes chest pain and shortness of breath.

I when to two cardiologist and they said there was no pericardium rubbing. I got ekg, stress test, echo and chest xray and came back normal.

This has ruined my life for the past year. Any help would be appreciated it.

Hello and welcome to HealingWell. I am sorry to read of your chronic problem, however, at some point, we have to trust our doctors and what they tell us,--especially when we see multiple docs and hear the same thing. 

Besides seeing the cardiologists have you had a regular medical screening exam with your primary care physician?

Hi KattOK,

I too want to offer my encouragement for your and your daughter. I just had my pericardiectomy in March. I know that there is anxiousness in the decision and surgery. Now six weeks after, I am feeling much more energized about life.

Thank you for the reply and encouragement.  I am so very glad to hear about you and how you are feeling.  That helps so much to hear about others who have felt the same and have had the surgery and to hear it's helped.
