Heart attack..?

Sometimes it feels like I've had a heart attack. One minute I'm laying or sitting down and the next my heart starts beating really fast and it starts to hurt and it makes me clutch an area on my chest during the time. I also check my pulse and it beats very oddly. Sometimes I black out and others I stay awake. I don't know what's wrong but I know something is. I'm in good shape, not over or underweight for my height and age. I would like to know if that's what a heart attack is or if it could be something else, I can't go see a doctor until I'm sure.

I see you made 3 posts, one about pain in your right hand, on the top, the second about having trouble breathing under exertion that you attribute to Asthma, and this one, with rapid hear rate when you're resting, odd pulse at times, and a reference to Blacking-out. How long has this been going on for?

Even if there was a doctor on this forum, he/she could not diagnose you properly without examining you and possibly ordering tests. If I were you, I would schedule to see a doctor just to rule-out anything more serious. Your Family or Primary Care Doctor would be a good place to start, he/she could refer you as needed to see a specialist. If you don't have a doctor, call the local hospitals to see which may have a clinic or program to help you get care.

If you develop other symptoms (shortness of breath, crushing pains in your chest, pains radiating down your arm or up your jaw, sweating without cause, etc.), or if these symptoms just started today, I would suggest that you should be seen in the Emergency Room.

hello,

you might want to call your doctor and be checked out. the irregular pulse you mentioned could be a number of things, but if you are feeling like you are blacking out, I would get checked out, so the doctors may be able to determine what is going on. I want to welcome you to the forum, and I hope you and your doctor can determine what is going on.
