I had a few small chest pains after walking more than 100m at a time. It didn't go away so I went to see doc. I ended up having a double bypass op and am now 2 weeks out from the op in recovery mode. A bit bewildered by it all, don't know what to expect. I have a cardiologist apt in two weeks and am a bit worried about what he will tell me. anybody with any experience in this?

I have not had BP, but had chest pain in '03 that led to a cath, that discovered a totally blocked RCA, with well formed collaterals. I guess I bypassed myself. The chest pain was GERD related and not infarction as it turned out. however, the whole episode made me aware of CAD that I must watch. I Take Ramipril and beta blockers for this. I hope your recovery is going well, and your team of doctors should keep you well posted on your recovery. there are many well informed people here who I have gotten tons of support from. My main problem is PVCs, for many years, long before the CAD was discovered. I wish you well, and again welcome to this wonderful forum. try not to worry.

Just passing through here and your post caught my attention...

I've never had surgery but my father had bypass surgery more than once. After surgery he experienced chest pains due to the surgical cut. He was also bring up cold and had a cough. But the doctors said this was normal after surgery.
After some time, he did get a bit depressed.

Try not to worry. Take your meds and get your rest. You will need to rest since you had surgery.

I hope that your follow up app with your doc next 2 weeks goes well.

Hello I am 36yrs old and I had the same thing happened to me but I had a quadruple bypass surgery even when I went to the hospital because of all the pain all my test came back Ok it took them doing a cardiac catheterization to find out I had 11 block arteries at 95% blocked just be sure to write down all your questions on a paper so you don't forget anything and if you don't understand something have them explain it to you like you are 6yrs old
