panic

Hi my name is Katie, im am 24 years of age and have been experiencing chest tightness and numbing of the left arm for a few months now. I did go to the doctors and was reassured that everything was ok, that my blood pressure was normal and my heart rate was too, they gave me some gell to rub on the effected area, but had very little effect.

The syptoms still persist and i am getting increasingly worried. I am going to book an appiontment for hospital to try and get down to the bottom of it, but do you have any advice to try and relax me as i am offten reduced to tears i am that frightened

Sorry your not feeling too good at the moment,
Has your doctor ordered an ECG?
If not get one!
They can tell a lot from a tracing of your heart!
It will probably put your mind at rest!
Maybe the chest tightness is gastric in nature? My hubby has gastric problems that can mimic heart pains! And I say this because he had a heart attack at age 26 ( he is 37 now) and his heart attack symptoms were very severe chest pain and very painful achy arms, there was not any numbness as your describing, so try not to worry too much!
Maybe your anxiety is causing you to feel pains as I speak from personal experience!
My anxiety can cause an array of symptoms!
If your really concerned get yourself checked out as i said certain tests can put your mind at rest!
