Uncomfortable arm pain, tingling and numbness (left side)
Jaw pain, neck pain , shoulder pain and upper left back pain. (left side)
Prolonged pain in the upper abdomen (left side)
Palms and feet sweating
Impending sense of doom (rarely, only happen for a few seconds. could be anxiety?)
Nausea and headache
Abdominal pain or "heartburn"
Palpitations (abnormal heart rythm. Sometimes 70-80, sometimes 90-100)
Excessive belching and burping
Numb in upper teeth
Cold feeling on left chest
Tightness in throat & middle chest (bother me to breathe properly)
I am 21 years old male, I used to have asthma when I was a baby (no asthma attack so far), I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a month ago and having 10mg carbimazol everyday. My grandpa had a heart weakness at age 67.
The list above is my symptoms I'm having currently. I used to get anxious and panic attacks everyday. But now I'm getting better. No more panic attack, maybe just anxious sometimes. Whenever I get these symptoms, I tend to ignore it because I don't want to get panic attacks and I have been to ER and done ECG 4 times. Most of my hyperthyroid symptoms are gone. Except palpitations and IBS. I am confused, I tried to talk to my brother and a friend who's a doctor, because most GP that I met aren't helpful. They told me that I should be just fine because I had a normal ECG reading. I'm struggling with these symptoms that they scare me evenmore they are related with heart disease. A few months ago, I had a panic attack, I was so panicked that I breathe too fast and after 10 minutes, I get sharp & crushing chest pain on the left side for a minute and a few minutes later my right chest had the same pain. I wasn't aware if it was a heart attack by that time because I thought it could be just gas or something. And I went some rest, it got better. Lately, I'm having problem with indigestion. Everytime after I eat, my stomach gets full and bloated. I'll get belching and upper left abdominal pain under my ribs for a few hours. And if I walk, my throat and middle chest will get tightened and it makes me feel uncomfortable to breathe (no shortness of breath). It's been a month I have this left arm pain and heaviness. I wonder if it because of my heart or something else. Should I go and see a cardiologist? But it's not easy for me to see one because the GP here won't take serious on me unless I have a severe heart attack or get send to ER because of shortness of breath. Or could it be GERD ? How do I know if it's gerd or heart disease?

How old are you ? Have you seen your doctor? Done any ECG ? I hope you'll be just fine.

If your doctors say your heart is fine, and you are only 32, maybe you should just try to find some relief in that. GERD can mimic heart symptoms, and anxiety can cause a lot of stress. Try not to worry so much about
your heart, since your doctors have assured you there is nothing to be concerned about
.

Its just that I had a very painfull experience with chest pain a year ago. They ruled heart attack out a week later by echo. It has just left me really scared.

Just wanted to chime in here. I have been confirmed with acid reflux.
I have the following symptoms:
Left arm heaviness/tingling
Chest pains
Tight throat
Jaw pain
Shoulder pain
Upper left back pain
Heart palps
I have to take Maalox on top of my PPI to really control these symptoms. I don't get those all at once, it just depends on what my mind and body tell it which one it wants to do :)
I've had the following tests done:
Nuclear stress test
Multiple EKG's
Cardiac Catheterization (Best test that can be done, they go in and in very high detail check for blockage)
I've passed everything. I've been 100% cleared by a very highly rated cardiologist. Dealing with these symptoms after the heart cath, made everything that much easier.
Stress/anxiety makes these symptoms go crazy. Just take note on this, because you'll need to learn to deal with it, because I sure still am.
Thanks.

Am female 33 Last November I started having palpitations (rapid and pounding) I have had gastritis for 7 yrs now and have not really been successful in dealing with it. Now besides the palpitations I get a burning and tingling in my hands and feet I have countless muscle spasms all over my body, sometimes a cooling sensation in my head, tightness or a choking feeling in the throat, gas, bloating, constant gurgling, back pains, heaviness in the chest burning in the stomach, pain off and on in the right ear, II have seen countless doctors all of which try to say the same thing the could not find anything wrong, the most recent said that I show a sinus rhythm which sometimes alternate to a tachycardia but I should not be worried.i have also lost weight and have been very fatigued. Don't know what else to do doctors have begun to think it might be in my mind (the symptoms) but thanks to this site I see there are others who are experiencing things that I am so am positive now it's not just me. One doctor has speculated herd but never did affirm I think am going to revisit that idea.

I am 64 with angina and GERD. Here are the indicators of angina:
- upper body discomfort (shoulders, mid-chest cramping) that goes away with rest. GERD does not go away with rest but will be washed away by sipping a glass of room-temperature water.
- nitro provides relief. You can purchase nitro over the pharmaceutical counter. When you experience chest pain, take a shot of the nitro. If it relieves the pain within a few minutes then it is probably angina. GERD does not respond to nitro.
One thing to understand is that people can live for decades with angina. However GERD can lead to esophagus cancer which does not have such a friendly prognosis.
Most of all though. You are young and strong. Reading your note I feel that your worst symptom is anxiety.
We have pills for that and they work for me.

it could be GERD or something else. I would get to my doctor and have all of the tests done to give you some relief.
I have GERD and Heart Disease, so it is hard to tell. But I am much older than you. But get yourself checked out. Best to you.
