quick update for y'all on my fall...

My neck was hurting real bad today so I decided to see about seeing my doc...he was able to fit me in.  Long story short...I have whiplash.  I actually fell so hard that I have whiplash...I'm shocked.  I sneeze and sprain my ankle...fall and get whiplash.  Only I am so talented!  tongue   I have some non-narcotic (ie - i can still take them and teach at the same time.  yes!) painkillers and a muscle relaxer.

On another, much happier note...Eight years ago today, my husband and I went out on our first date.  :-)   We went and saw the movie Wallace and Grommit to celebrate...I love W&G!

ouch! good grief. what does one do about that kind of whiplash? wear a neck brace?
don't you teach? that should be interesting -

really - hope you're not in too much discomfort.

What's Wallace and Gromit?  Teri...I can no longer claim you as one of my own.  lol

Libby's right...google, baby, google!  W&G is a British "cartoon."  Nick Parks, the creator, made three shorts with them...it's stop action claymation.  If you remember the Chicken Run movie a few years ago, that was by Nick Parks too.  Wallace is a cheese loving inventor and Gromit is his loyal dog.  Hilarious!!  It was a good movie.

My doc didn't tell me to wear a neck brace...thank goodness!  I do teach and yesterday was very interesting.  lol  Oddly, my neck isn't what bothered me the most.  I have a tall, wooden stool I teach from in the front of the room...let's just say after a couple hours of sitting there, I couldn't sit anymore!!  I wheeled my comfy desk chair to the front of the room and taught from that.  My kids asked me what was wrong and I just told them I fell on Sunday and was sore.  And of course!!!  Today is the first day in forever a kid asks if I went to Mass this weekend...the one weekend I didn't make it to bc I fell...sigh.  I got some looks from my class when I said I hadn't gone...had to explain again why. 

I hope the drugs my doc gave me help.  I took them before I went to the movie yesterday...right after the movie started, I felt some relieft.  However, it didn't last long...about 30 min before the movie ended I started getting horrible muscle spasms again...Almost asked my hubby if we could leave.  I do hope that won't be the case today.

Lil, what you doing falling so hard you get whiplash!!!?? That stinks! On a happier note, Happy Anniversary of your first date. I'm going to go see Wallace and whatshisname. I haven't seen them either. lol

My doc gave me two options...physical therapy or drugs.  I chose the drugs since they're a lot cheaper.  lol  He told me to put heat on it as well.  The flexeril he gave me is making me so tired!!  I'm ready for bed right now (already put on my pj's) and it's only 4:30.  Can't wait for bedtime!!

teri, not to worry, i 'magine that means you don't have little ones running around your
home demanding W&G time on the TV! it IS british, after all, but there's a new
movie out, so lots of publicity.

lil, hope you are feeling better. i hate taking stuff like flexeril, makes you feel so
doped. how did you do in class today?

Gosh Lil, you really are in the wars! (Do you say that over there?) Hope you'll feel better before too long.

The company that makes the Nick Parke films had a huge fire yesterday which destroyed all their storage. You know their new film is called 'The Curse of the Were-Rabbit'? Yesterdays headlines included 'The Curse of the Were-House' :-) Not very funny for the company I suppose! The materials for the new film were safe because they're out on a touring exhibition.

My hubby told me that their warehouse burned.  I was shocked!  That is simply terrible.  I'm glad at least the movie things weren't destroyed.

Well, I fell asleep shortly after posting yesterday.  I woke up for about thirty min and then fell asleep again.  Woke up when hubby came home and then was gone again.  I don't know why I'm this tired!  I've taken flexeril before and it's NEVER made me feel like this.  I was so tired yesterday in a meeting I was seeing double.  Today is going to be a long day too.  I have a faculty meeting after school and then an adult ed religion class that doesn't end until 8:30!!  I'll be at school for almost fifteen hours today.  I might end up taking a nap at my desk after the faculty meeting.  tongue

Hi Lil
You've never taken Flexeril with the drugs that you are on now. Perhaps there is something to that? Call your Pharmacist, or Dr. to have them check to make sure there is no drug interaction, or if you have the time...check out Drugs.com, they have a drug checker there. (You do have a liability there, too, if you are driving.)

I made it!  We had a different deacon doing the class last night and he was really good...kept me quite interested...I was really worried I was going to fall asleep!  Luckily, that didn't happen.

Yesterday wasn't quite as bad as Tuesday.  I'm still having all the same stupid things going on but my vision is going double quite as often, so I'm happy.  I couldn't quite get a sentence out yesterday in my classroom during handwriting.  I told my kids I felt like I got up and came to work but left my brain at home!  They laughed...most of them said they have felt like that too.  tongue I have such a goofy class.

Teri, I'll try to make it to chat tonight.  Who knows how I'll be feeling but I'll do my best to at least show up and pop my head in.  yeah
