hello. I first want to say that I am so sorry for what you have gone through. reading your post brings up concern for me. I recently just had my first heart ablation due to "supposedly" SVT diagnosis. I have suffered with heart palpitations, fainting, chest pain, and stopping of the heart for two years. I am healthy, previously active (I can't anymore because of my heart), and young. (22) I am not a smoker, drinker, or a drug user. I have seen over 15 doctors in the past two years, and all of them told me it was anxiety and they treated me so wrongly. I recently moved to Oregon in hopes of finding a better cardiologist. I was referred to one who studies the electrical part of the heart. He ran an echocardiogram and the results were normal. All the EKG's came back as sinus tachycardia with BP of 170's or higher (during the "attack") and then all of a sudden go back to the 120's. My heart rate is a steady 140 at resting periods. During an attack, my heart skyrockets to anywhere from 180-220bpm and can last from minutes to hours at a time. This cardiologist scheduled me for a radiofrequency heart ablation procedure with guaranteed success and no need for future ablation.
I was awake the entire procedure-like you, it was traumatic for me and I remember everything! The catheter went clear to my collar bone and the doctor played stupid! While I was screaming, and pointing to my collar bone, all he could do was say "oops. sorry" Serious! When he tried going through the second lower quadrant of my heart, he said it was blocked. (which is weird because my echo came back normal!) Ever since the procedure, my heart rate has been racing to where I feel like I am going to die. I felt like I was going to have a seizure earlier today b/c of how fast my heart was racing. I thought it was just because of my procedure and my body healing. But after reading what you have gone through-now I'm not too sure and confident for that matter. What do I do? Should I be worried? Thanks
