Okay, so, let me start off by giving you some history ( family history, etc. )
I am Prediabetic, Obese, my cardiologist has said those are the only things he'd be worried about, so I AM working on them currently!
My grandfather ( moms side ) had a silent heart attack sometime in his 60s we'd guess, quadruple bypass 6 years ago. My uncle ( moms side also ) was 53 when he died of a major heart attack, other than that there is NO heart problems in ANYONE else in my family!
My dad does have high BP, so I have an at-home BP monitor, which I use probably way too much.
I have an underactive thyroid, im on 25mcg Levothyroxine, I've got GERD, I'm on 30mg Cymbalta for Anxiety/Panic Attacks. and Hydroxyzine 25mg for when I have the panic attacks and nothing works.

so to start off my story :
Ive had this happen before,
I suffer from anxiety, mainly Health Anxiety, over what? My Heart of course!
I use to get heart palpitations ( skipped beats ) I could feel, they've since toned down quite a bit.
I woke up lastnight, out of a dazed-feeling kind of sleep, I could swear I had JUST been awake, but im not even too sure! It was so weird...
gasping for breath, I jolted up into a sitting position and of course because I flew up so fast it felt as though I was dizzy/couldn't concentrate. that went away within seconds once I found one thing and focused on it.
I felt as thought my heart stopped,
even though that's also how I felt the past 4 times or so this has happened.
I've been to see a cardiologist, just 6 weeks ago, actually. almost 7.
He said my echocardiogram from april was absolutely fine,
so was my holter monitor from then.
he ordered a 30 day event monitor to put my mind at ease, for my sake.
and told me to get my anxiety under control, because he truly believes all of my worries are for nothing,
and if I felt like my heart stopped ( it felt like it did a few times one week while sitting there, awake. doing nothing ) to not go to the emergency room, because he could almost guarantee it wasn't that.
he said to him, it sounded like anxiety and he had to agree with my doctor, and all the countless ED doctors ive also seen.
I had felt anxious before bed, and im sick, going to urgent care this evening as soon as my husband gets home from work. Im coughing a lot, was wheezing until I had a coughing fit just a little while ago, now im not wheezing, yet.
Anyway, since half of this post is just all over the place,
Questions:
If my heart DID stop, wouldnt I be unconscious anyway?
Does anyone else EVER get this feeling?
Does anyone else here have anxiety, and go through these feelings?
I stopped the panic attack first thing this morning when I woke up, because this was obviously the only thing I could think of, by saying, " your CARDIOLOGIST, not just a DOCTOR, but someone who specializes in the HEART, said YOUR HEART IS FINE! CHILL OUT!" and weirdly enough, those kinds of "mantras" are calming to me, especially lately.
I guess, at the end of this ridiculously long, and crazy sounding post,
I'm just looking for some kind of reassurance, or experiences, and support....
thanks....
