I have flipped t waves

Hi..I'm new..My name is Pat and my EKG says I have flipped t waves in leads 2,3, AVL, AVF, V1 through V6....May I please ask what the h--- that means?

Hi Pattymike and welcome.  Don't know anything about the ekg's but hopefully someone will be along that does.  I just wanted to welcome you!  :-)

Nice to meet you, Patoola, and thank you for the warm welcome.  Well, I guess those flipped things aren't going away so it looks like I can be patient and wait for an answer.  I s'pose I could go to the Dr. again but Dr's answers are very sketchy and I would like an understandable explanation.

Oh yes, Doctors can be frustrating to pull understandable explainations out of them!!!  One thing I've learned but am still not very good at is that I have to be assertive when going to the doc!  The best way I can do that is to make a list of my questions and it helps have a board like this that increases our knowledge of our health issues.  Even so tho, sometimes I "brain freeze" in the doc's office and can't even remember to check the list if I wrote one!  Then I get mad at myself when I get home and remember all the stuff I wanted to ask!  LOL  EKG's are very hard for us patients to read or understand so you may need to ask your doc to explain what the flipped t wave means.  If you call the office the nurse may even be able to explain it to you over the phone if the doctor isn't available.  Hugs, Pat

I looked up the history and the technology in the book stores and the web, but still having trouble getting an exact fix on how depedable this old ecg/ekg technology really is. Seems doctors have a great deal of confidnece in them, though. I would still like to hear several professionals opinions, and counter-opinions(accademic) of the strengths and weaknesses of this technology. I searched for weaknesses on Pub Med and found some suggestions that subcutaneous fat, isotropic muscle(scar tissue?), lungs, and even slight missplacement of these V-probes can cause problems or errors, but I'm not so sure how common or reliable the research was. Still searching and still learning...slowly.
