Amy:
I had an SVT occurrence where my heart rate was 220 bpm, and I was admitted to the hospital. After much testing and visits from a few cardiologists, including an cardiac electrophysiologist, I decided to take their suggestion and schedule an ablation. I'm 55, take no prescription medications, not overweight, low blood pressure, etc. I'm a month post-ablation, and have not had any issues. They will most likely give you something before you go in for the procedure - I was given versed, no problems. I was not anxious, or worried. The most difficult part of the procedure is the doctor mapping your heart to determine where your problem lies. It took roughly 4 hours, I spent 3 hours in recovery and was released the same day.
