Hello all! Hope everyone is doing well today. I've posted just a few times on this board in the Heart Forum before. I have been dealing with anxiety issues for many years and have been able to bring my panic attacks under control. The problem is, I keep having PAC's, like ALL the time. I'm not talking once and awhile, or once or twice a day. I'm talking like sometimes it's 5 or 6 per minute. I've been able to tell myself up untill this point that it's benign and that it's ok, though it's not normal, it won't hurt me. Well, the last time I went to my cardiologist for a check-up, he suggested we do the stress test because I was now feeling these extra beats up in my throat area. I don't know why that makes a difference, but it's like someone is flicking their finger against my throat every time it happens. I also get a strange sensation when the PAC's occur, and that is the feeling of a "fuzziness" in my head.
Long story short, I'm really trying not to freak out about this. I know there are people on this board that deal with struggles with their health that are so far greater than I could ever imagine. But herein lies the confession: I feel that all the years of drinking beer and smoking cigs has finally caught up with me and that I've ruined myself.
So tomorrow, I go for my stress test. I don't like having this sensation in my chest and throat all the time, but I do hope that tomorrow they are able to see what it is happening when I get these PAC's. I guess I'm just worried and looking for a little reassurance here.
