New & concerned with a normal echo

Hi madine & welcome to Healing Well. So glad to read your echo turned out good. That should be a huge burden off of your mind. Believe me, had anything shown on it the dr would have told you. This is not a test the drs fudge on with the patient. I have cardiac issues that are monitored, its been that way for years, probably close to 25 yrs.

If this were me I would go back to my primary care dr & talk to him/her about the ongoing issues. There is a variety of things that can cause what you describing, anything from gas or GERD to name just a couple. Keep pushing for answers with the dr. But, seriously, I think you can relax about the heart thing.

madine I have what is called aortic heart valve insufficiency. A result of long standing uncontrolled high blood pressure. I was 28 yrs old when dx'd & thought I was too young to have such a thing. I have some issues with the mitral valve but the aortic is the one that is the most concerning. The lower I can keep my blood pressure the less wear & tear on that valve. Three years ago I had a heart attack & was very lucky in more ways than one because I also threw a blood clot that hit my left lung. To their surprise I made it through. I was not expected to pull through & was unresponsive for 3 days.

Do you have much bother now with your heart issues
I have seen my GP and he seems to think I may have angina So he has given me a spray xxx

My biggest problem is keeping the blood pressure under control. I am a long time chronic pain patient & when the pain escalates so does the blood pressure. I have an implanted pain pump that needs to come out because it is not working, catheter is blocked. So, the pain level the past 2 years has been just nuts. I took way, way too much Ibuprofen to try to function somewhat & ended up with an ulcer. That is on me though, I knew I was playing with fire. I have crohns disease & knew I had no business taking it. Sometimes you do what you gotta do, lol. I take Norvasc for angina & it works well for me.

I have an 11 yr old grandson & I keep him during the summer & after school. He keeps my mind off of things. He is an avid golfer so during the summer we spend a lot of time at tournaments. We stay busy all of the time which is very good for me.

If I could get better control over the pain things would be better all over. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

madine, there is a lot of info here at HW about the pumps. You can use the search feature here & type in pain pumps to read the old threads. They can be a life saver for many of us. My first pump was implanted in 2005. The battery died in it but I got 7 1/2 years out it. Also, check out Medtronics.com they have a user friendly website very informative. You have had more than your fair share of hits too.

I learned a long time ago that distraction is a great source for me. Taking care of him has been my best medicine. I just try to push past whatever when I have him with me.
