Years ago, my doctor said this was caused by me swallowing air while drinking fluids, mostly. He suggested I always use a straw when drinking beverages/water. As long as I do this, I rarely have this issue. Hope this helps!

I have been having palpatations ,bad for the past year. Have had EKGs, blood work , Gallbladder removed, and recently had a Fundoplication procedure done. Have suffered with acid reflux real bad ,so the fundoplication fixed that problem, but still have the palpatations, I also will get them just sitting, or bending over, and yes mine also flare up around 8 pm I dread going to bed ,I'm tired and within minutes, BOOM they flare up , and then up I am. The Dr. has called this Dumping syndrome . It's when your food passes to quickly through your stomach ,and immediatly turns to sugar.. So Laying down right after you eat, for a half hour, do not drink any liguids half hour before meals and half hour after.. Ya that sucks, but if you do need to just a sip.. This works great, not always convienent, I just had a colonoscopy done and found I have diverticulitus, I have changed my diet so immenslly, that i cheat myself out of alot of goodies. I have been told in bold letters NO IT IS NOT YOUR HEART.. it feels like it is.. Your not alone, i hope what lil i have posted will help someone suffering with these issues, feed back would be great.. Good luck to all out there suffering with this annoying problem..

I experience palpitation in stomach, followed by increase in heart beats every now and then. Often after meals. I found out the cure after 3 months, surprisingly simple!
When you wake up in the morning, before coming out of bed, take your fingers and try to locate the palpitation on the stomach area where you usually feel it by pressing your fingers little deep. Once you locate it, firmly pressing the fingers, slowly move that palpitation over the navel and keep your fingers pressed there (over the navel) for couple of minutes. Then slowly get up and start your day!
Keep doing this for few days and everything will be all set!
Do not lift heavy weights!

hi everyone. thank you for your contributions to this thread because I was terrified until I read it. other people are going through this as well... guys, my palpitating heart goes out to each one of you lol. let's beat this!
symptoms started about two days ago for me. I couldn't believe it. I thought I was going to die, or that I have cancer... I just didn't know... and I still don't know for sure.
it's crazy but every time I take a bite of food I get heart palpitations... or like my heart is skipping a beat. it's at the exact time the food hits my mouth. stomach gurgling? yes. horrible foul smelling gas, which I have NEVER had in my life, started around the same time as the palpitations. tbh probably a day before or so.
I am a 36 year old female, 5'7" 130lbs, nonsmoker except for legal marijuana on occasion. I smoke cbd oils in a vape pen pretty frequently. I haven't been exercising too much in recent months but plan to right after this- I enjoy fitness just not washing clothes all the time. but anyway, I have always had a bit of a problem with Candida overgrowth. in high school, I had thrush which is oral Candida attack and usually only babies get it, but I got it. I was popping pills in high school so that could've had something to do with it.
but typically my diet consists of random food but not much red meat or chicken at all. recently, within last few weeks, I've been trying to be full vegan but I get cravings for chips ALL THE TIME and taco bell.. I guess my diet sucks. I don't have a kitchen so I eat out ALLOT. I do love salads but if I have a salad for lunch, I'm probably heading for taco bell for dinner. hopefully you get my point. oh did I mention I'm totally addicted to coffee and habe been for years? basically I get at least a Grande whole milk latte everyday. just within last few weeks I stopped. sooooo that's not good either.
I live in my car, I also have a driving job, so I'm in the car all the time. my hair seems like it's thinning and I have dandruff.
so after reading a few replies above, I immediately got a colon cleanse... it's actually a full body detox. its name is" the cleaner women's 14 day all in one formula" I got it at gnc for about 24 bucks. I'm going to drink alot of water and hardly eat while I do this cleanse. I'm already starving and want taco bell or something delicious and greasy but I can't. these heart palpitations have got to go asap! this is frightening! I haven't had any arm pain like someone else mentioned and I have no insurance so going to the doctor right now is really out of the budget.
I am very hopeful about this cleanse but if I'm still having issues after day 5, I'll go back to gnc and get the ultimate cleanse like the lady above used (and it worked for her). this is not fun at all, to the lady who has had this for 20 years, God bless you and I want to give you a hug!

I know you are in a rough spot, but you are trying to treat the symptoms without knowing what the underlying cause of the heart palpitations are. Your diet is terrible, you could have issues just from the fact that the food contains a lot of carbs, sugar, fat, MSG, etc. You could also be getting symptoms from anxiety, stress, and those symptoms can even cause hair thinning/loss, or even from a thyroid problem. I probably wouldn't waste the money on colon cleanses, just try to eat better, skip the fast food, and get yourself to a point where you can see a doctor.

I found this thread, maybe it's inactive, but I'm trying to explain strange things going on and understand whether they are related or not. It started after I had flu, it was very mild - low grade fever and a little bit of cough that's it. But still it was flu.
So in a week or so, I started having heartburn - not food related. It could appear first thing in the morning. It feels like I was pregnant. But I didn't. Then I started feeling some kind of bubbles in the chest like you need to burb, like a discomfort. And finally I started feeling thirsty and nauseous. After that I went to the doctor and she did the physical. All tests were perfect, she gave me some pump inhibitor to take telling, maybe it is gastritis and that's it. But in several days I had some hypertensive urgency, I never had any hypertension before. And during this my heart was pounding like crazy, I could lay on my back only, since felt like I don't have enough air.
In two days I went to the doctor, she made and ekg, which showed some slight abnormalities of S-T and referred me to cardiologist. My blood pressure was relatively high those days and I still feel nausea. Cardiologist didn't find any heart problems and ekg and sonogram. Gave me nebiololol for 1 week. I took it for 6 days. My heartbeat was low 45-55 bpm and my fingers started feeling numb. So after 6 days the blood pressure was better, I have some occasional raises, but they are going away on their own without any medications. At that time my heartburn was improved. But now it's been back with burping. No nausea. And some palpitations which scare me. For example I was lying in bed and it felt like my heart was squeezed for a second, then it went away. Next day, I decided to hear my heartbeat and I heard that several beats were missing (first time I heard that). At the same time I continue doing some cardio - like running. And no problems except for rare heartburn I'm feeling. But those things happens when resting and they last less than a second.
And additionally my fingers sometimes are feeling numb and getting white for a minute or so - like Ranaud's disease.
Do you know, can those 3 conditions be related to each other?
