High Lp(a) High CAC

I’m 64, had TIA in 2016 prior to diagnosis of CVD. Current CAC score around 400 which has been increasing 30% pa (was 210 2 years ago). I’m 6’0” very fit on LCHF diet. BMI 21, BP 115/75, resting heart rate 55-60 bpm. However I have inherited high Lp(a) which is apparently causing the plaque in arteries. Good HDL to LDL ratio with very low small dense sub fractions.

Tried niacin / vit c / lysine therapy for 18 months which reduced Lp(a) levels by 60%. However no impact whatsoever on CAC progression rate - it continued to climb at 30% pa.

Now seeing cardiologist who has put me on Rosavastatin and Fish Oil. I’m taking Ubiquinol and Vit D as precautionary measures. I’m not seeing any negative impact of statins on muscles in gym weightlifting etc.

I’m not too keen on the statins apart from the anti-inflammatory benefits. Cardiologist says statins the only option I have

Any thoughts or suggestions from folk who have experienced similar issues?

thanks HT - I just had medical and bloods - came back perfect. So apart from high CAC I'm fit, healthy and strong
