My understanding is that it is normal for blood pressure to rise in the evenings. However, 150 systolic, in my experience, is a level at which you can feel your pulse throughout your body.
Sodium is not just present in salty foods. Are you eating any frozen foods, TV dinners, or microwaveable foods?
Some of those have over a thousand milligrams of sodium per serving! No wonder my blood pressure had been creeping up over the past several years!
It took years to do the damage, and I expect it to take years to undo it.
When I went to the ER with heart palpitations a few months ago my BP was 159/100.
Now, on toprol xl and with a much better diet, as of last Friday it was 120/90. Yippee!
