Can an aortic aneurysm suddenly grow larger due to an injury, like a hard fall onto the abdomen? Last year my husband's was a 4.8 and following a very hard fall on his abdomen, two weeks ago, (while out of town), he had a CT scan back home(his annual checkup) and it was a 5.0. I mentioned to the doctor that he'd had a hard fall and his comment was, 'you don't want to fall on your stomach'. I thought about it later and wondered if that was because it could cause it to grow, or if he meant it could burst?
It's not large enough to be in danger of bursting though, so was just wondering if anyone has had theirs grow due to an injury or knows if this could happen? thanks
Also, my husband has been told by the radiologist (out of town) that a 'nodule' was found on both lungs===5mm in size. The report was sent to us just yesterday. He now has an appt. to have a CT scan of his lungs. I'm wondering how big is 5mm and any other info or comment anyone might have. Thanks
