ep study and catheter ablation please help???

im booked in for a ep study 2mo wiv the possibility of ablation, im so scared i feel ill, physically sick.

is it really worth the risks? i have 4 young children and i do not want to take any uneseccary risks, please respond if u have had either surgery with your feedback - good or bad

i dont no if i can face it

Oh boy are you going to love ME !!
I am 48 and had my EP study and ablation(s) just last Thursday. Honey, it's a piece of CAKE !!
My ablation took 90 minutes. I was TOTALLY comfortable during the procedure, no pain. Light sedation is just perfect for this procedure. I had my catheters in the groin and in the neck because I had areas of extra conductivity in both sides of the atrium. After the ablation I laid flat for five hours. With four children I bet you will enjoy that! I was able to leave the hospital the same day. I have NO discomfort. I have tiny bruises on my groin and neck that don't hurt at all. My heart feels peaceful and wonderful. I had absolutely no idea that a procedure that sounds so very scary can be such a minor deal. I think I had more pain having a tooth removed. I've been back to work and my active lifestyle. Only difference is that I take an aspirin each day and NOW when I think about my heart I marvel about how it is fixed, and not wondering when I'll have to go back to the ER for a shot of Adenosine. Wish I had done it sooner.
