I am a 52 year old female, 7 1/2 years post ascending aortic aneurysm repair with a St. Jude aortic valve and feeling great. I just had a ct scan for baseline purposes and discovered that my right coronary artery is leaking at the graft site. A second surgery is now necessary to repair the leak. Depending on the amount of scar tissue near the repair site, the graft and valve may have to be replaced. My original surgery was done in Texas at The Methodist Hospital by Dr. Joseph Coselli. I live in Connecticut approximately 20 minutes from Yale New Haven Hospital and consulted with Dr. John Elefteriades to discuss my case and was quite impressed with him. I don't want to travel back to Texas. Does anyone have any experience with Yale New Haven Hospital cardiac unit and especially Dr. Elefteriades? I would appreciate any feedback.
