Is there any relation between strenuous exercise and aortic dissection? I have a bicuspid aortic valve and I'm addicted to weightlifting and cardio exercises.

Hi "bunan",
if you have a bicuspid aortic valve, you have to be screened for ascending aortic aneurysm, because many times an aneurysm accompanies the bicuspid valve. If you do have an aneurysm, weight lifting might be contraindicated. In order to have peace of mine, ask your doctor to order a CT scan of the aorta to rule out an aneurysm.
