I'm new to this specific forum, but not the site. I've posted a few times in other forums since I have multiple health conditions, as many of you do.
Just thought I'd introduce myself here (after seeing the new members thread) since I find myself in here reading about similiar conditions.
I have SVT and arrhythmia.
I'm considering an ablation, but I've been living with it for a while without surgery. I take lopressor (metoprolol) a beta blocker that slows my heart beat. But I do still have episodes. Very rarely do they last more than a minute. I do the bearing down trick, and they normally go away. I have had 2 episodes this past year that lasted a long time, one lasted 10 hours. Every trick I knew didn't work. Cold cloth, coughing, bearing down, massaging my neck, etc. These episodes make me consider an ablation, because I'm told if that continues I'm going to have to go on blood thinners. Which is something I'd like to avoid.
Quick run down of all I have:
SVT (metoprolol)
Arrhythmia
IBS (irritable bowel syndrome - I have changed my diet and I have Lomotil)
Diabetes (diagnosed in 2006 - treated with Metformin and Insulin)
Neuropathy in my feet (strong chronic pain treated with lyrica, tramadol and norco)
High Blood pressure (metoprolol, Cozaar)
High Cholesterol ( Pravachol)
Hi everyone. And hope you all are having a good holiday.
