Hello,
My father is about to turn 71. He had a stroke about 4 years ago and lost his right peripheral vision and his ability to read, although he can spell letters out to form words and he still has his mind. He discovered he had a PFO when he was hospitalized 4 years ago but he is reluctant to have it repaired. He has asked me to help him research the procedure but I am not qualified to do this. He is developing congestive heart failure and his lower legs are discolored from poor circulation. If he has this PFO repaired I hope both these conditions will improve. I would like to convince him to have the operation as I feel the benefits vastly outweigh the risks. Any advise on how I can research the procedure, statistics, surgeons, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
