I usually am in the fibro forum but have a question....

My MIL came home from the hospital on Tuesday, when she left they told us her level was 2.6 which is good.

I took her in today, 2 days later for a check, it's 5.7......what caused it to rise that fast?

She is 77 years old, she was in the hospital/rehab because she had polps removed from her colon, puncture the wall, etc....then the site where they went into got infected....

My thought she may be fighting another infection, I noticed she is getting tired again.

Would her low white blood count and possible infection cause her levels to drop?

She has been on this for years so I am familiar it just the nurse yesterday had a cow about her range which I understand why, she also has a wound that I am packing for her and she bleed yesterday from it, knowning her levels I see why.

I'm also thinking in the hospital, she was in it for a month, she was allowed to eat anything she wanted and she was eating greens on a twice daily basis where before at home she was eating them 3 times a week which kept her levels in check with her dosage. I think she dropped off the greens Tues & Weds which is my fault because I didn't realize how much greens she was eating in the rehab hospital.
