hello i am 22 about 2 and 1/2 years ago i had a c section shortly after i was diagnosed with a dvt and the v liedin factor my first i was scared and thought my world ended, about two weeks ago i lost my father at 48 due to a pulmonary embolism. now my fear had jumped a great deal as to what may happen to me. what might be the best way to feel normal again about the risks of having blood clot issue, i have a baeutiful daughter that i want to see groow up and no health insurance to get a yearly wellness check and my father didnt even show signs as far as i know. every time i am in an er they ask alot of questions about my disorder and i dont even know all the facts. some support and advice would be helpful thank you

Good Morning and welcome to HealingWell.  I suspect you are referring to  Factor V Leinden.

Factor V Leiden  is a common inherited genetic disorder that can increase your chance of developing abnormal blood clots usually in your veins. This was your dx 2 1/2 year ago. 

If you have factor V Leiden and have developed blood clots, medications can lessen your risk of developing additional blood clots and help you avoid potentially serious complications. Are you on any medications now?

I would kindly suggest you make an appointment and see your physician even if you do not have insurance as it is always cheaper to go to the clinic rather than going to the ER. 

I am sorry to hear of the death of your Father at such a young age.  Did your Father have a confirmed dx of Factor V Leiden disorder?
