Hi, I am 48 y/o female who had a tia on June 15, 2010. No symptoms of anything until then. Lost all feeling on the right side of my body and it started coming back by the time ambulance got to the hospital. Very scary. Saw a neurologist who suggested getting a TEE w/ cardiologist and they found what they thought was a pfo. Met w/ another cardiologist and decided to have it closed. On 9-9-10 I went to hospital and had the procedure, and I am still in awe at the entire process. The only painful part was the numbing injection in the groin before he inserted the catheter. I watched the whole thing as it was done. I came home from the hospital yesterday and have felt good since then. I was reading a lot on this forum before my procedure and was pretty apprehensive about
what to expect. I wanted to let those who are still waiting or debating the procedure know that my experience was good so far and I feel great.
Since I didn't have symptoms before my tia I didnt know if Id feel any different afterward so what is interesting to me is that I have always had cold hands and feet but since surgery I have toasty warm hands and feet.
Well, thanks for listening and I am so thankful to have found this forum.
