Hello all,
I pretty much got home from hospital this afternoon with some bleeding from stomach, however that isn't the issue I am having at the moment.
Whilst in hospital I was put on a drip, forgot what the stuff was called, but it controlled the inflammation or bleeding or something like that, not quite sure.
Anyway, I had a pulse thingy on my finger and noticed when I was relaxed it was reading 47bpm and sometimes going back up to 60 bpm, is this because i only had a finger thing on and wasnt accurate?
Anyway I started checking it from my neck, when the machine stayed in the 40's it would beep and at 1 stage the nurse huffed and turned the beep off.
I am not athletic, I weigh 85 kg's and I have smoked for about 10 years and Im 26 years old with Ankylosing Spondilitis.
If there was a problem, the nurse would have caught onto it right? Also, could the stuff they had me on lowered my HR at all?
Should I seek medical advice about this or is it ok? surely the nurse would have picked up on it when it said "low pulse" so I assumed it just had something to do with the drip they had me on, didn't want to ask and look like a hypochondriac at the time.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks :)
