We can't really tell you as it depends on what area(s) are under suspicion.
I had a vascular ultrasound when I developed some thrombophlebitis after a poorly diluted medication. In addition to the 4 areas of phlebitis they found a blood clot in my left axillary vein from the poorly diluted medication.
I had a carotid doppler ultrasound (vascular ultrasound on the carotid arteries).
They use vascular ultrsound to determine PAD (peripheral artery disease). (Ooops, my mistake, that would be an arterial ultrasound).
