Mitrial Valve Balloon Surgery

hi all,

one of my friend is suffering from mitral valve shrinkage.she gets tired easily..doc says she requires to hv balloon surgery.she is doing yoga?will that be of any help?she is taking betaloc,promolet & amifru medicines.but doctor says even after balloon surgery is done she will have to take medicine life long.and also she might require to have balloon surgery again after 10-15 years.she is 25 years old.is there any better solution?

Hello and welcome to HealingWell.

When treatment for heart valve disease includes surgery, it's performed by traditional surgery and minimally invasive balloon valvuloplasty. The mitral valve is the most commonly repaired heart valve.

Yes, she may have to have it repeated down the road as the Dr. stated. Medications would be up to the Dr.

I do not have an answer re Yoga but a good question for her to ask her Dr.
