Greetings,
I had a tracheal reconstruction with end to end anostomosis surgery in 2010 August . The stenosis came after FHF and 9 days in coma . To cut it short the surgery went very well but due to the severity of the problem a sternotomy was required during a surgery . After around 2 months I had problems with the lower sternal wire and there was large amount of pus from it . I got it removed and during the surgery a little part of bone was to be removed becucause it became soft because of high infection . Things went well after that and then after couple of months later I started feeling pain in middle sternum where there were other sternal wire , I went to the doctor and he recommended me to remove the other wires also and thus I was operated again and the remaining 5 wires were removed . Things went fine and now after around 3 months from that last surgery I have a small swelling in middle chest and I suspect there might be pus inside . There is no sternal wire inside at the moment . But this is not much because earlier the pus used to come out due to heavy ammount but this time it looks halted .
Please note that when I underwent that sternotomy I was diagnosed with Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus later and that was handled by antibiotics of high level .
Since there is no steral wire I am quite concerned about
Osteomyelitis but on the other hand I am not having any fever , any other symptoms . I can run easily , walk easily infact I do job and my work is related to computers .
Please give me your thoughs on it . I am 21 years old right now
