Hi all,
i am brand new to the forum and wanted to say hi and give a short account of my experience and what i am currently feeling.
At the end of July I suffered from a heart attack. I was 33 at the time. It started while i was playing soccer but i carried on with my normal routine for about 3 hours after until the pain became too much to bear and i brought myself to hospital. After a short wait in Emergency I was rushed in once the ECG had been taken. I had one blockage in my artery - no other blockages in the other arteries. I had a stint put in and was out in 3 days. The specialists dont really have any idea why it happened - im about 14lbs overweight, slightly high BP and slightly high cholestorol (bad cholestorol was high) - "nothing obvious" were their words. Nonetheless, i am taking 6 or 7 different drugs to address a whole host of the usual things... I quit smoking about a year before it happened as i could feel it affecting me, i started exercising and working out hard with a trainer and i lost close to 20lbs before it happened (about 3 weeks before my wedding!). It caught me by surprise.
So since then, i got married and i started a new, high responsibility, job. I have gained some of the weight back since the wedding and havent really been eating too well. The recuperative exercise program that i had enrolled in has taken a back seat to the time demands of the new job. After the incident - i felt great and have felt really well until this week. A number of things happened this week - i have had a very stressful couple of weeks in the new job, i am waking up at night for an hour to 90 minutes for the last 3 nights and coupled with that i have experienced some mild daytime pains in my chest for the last couple of days coupled with some deep breathing. Also, It might not be related but the last 3 days i have had a pain in my leg, below my calf but above my achilles. It just came apparently out of nowhere, not exercise related, though i do have a weird habit of rotating my ankles ALOT to stretch my calf muscles.
Has anyone got any ideas what has been happening to me the last 3 days and what i should do? Im scared that something additional is now happening. Mentally i have dealt with the attack really well but i think the new job has added some stress that is causing these symptoms but i dont know and i dont really want to go to see the doc yet.
Thank you all and i look forward to getting to know you all over the next while.
