weight training and arterial stiffness

I enjoy weight training but this meta-analysis got me in to thoughts:
"Conclusion: High-intensity resistance training is associated with increased arterial stiffness in young subjects with low baseline levels of arterial stiffness."

Then why does the AHA recommend weight training?Am I missing something?

Good Morning,

Interesting article and a topic that would be good to talk with a cardiologist about. Arterial stiffness is a general term for the elasticity (or compliance) of the arteries.

Wish I had some words of wisdom for you but perhaps one of our other members will have input.

hey i was starting weight lifting but had to stop when i found out i had heart diease. im 25. id talk to your doctor about weight lifting and the heart stiffening. My doc did mention weights and heart diease and perhaps it would be good for you to go for Echocardiograms once every few years just to make sure your heart isn't thickening as precaution
