Hi
I am new to this forum and I am not sure where to begin. I have been a Professional and Amateur Athlete for over 40 years. I am low blood pressure, heart rate of 40. I always feel great, but a week ago I had a Ventricular tachycardia (VT or V-tach) heart attack. My heart rate went to up to 230 beats/min for over an hour and half before I could get to ER where they shocked me to restore my normal heart rate. I guess I am very lucky as most people die from this, and to have it last that long (yes it was during biking) was even more of a miracle.
I had a surgery where they put a cathode in my groin and went in and looked at my heart for blockage(Cardiac Catheterization) but all looked good.
I went for a MRI this past Friday, and today the doctor told me I had a weak heart (I still have to meet him at his office to discuss the results).
How have I been able to race at these levels even as little as two weeks ago.
I am very scared, what does this mean?
Please if someone can give some advice?
