Hey there, I am glad you joined us.I am going to give you sx of angina and also of a heart attack.
People with symptoms of angina usually feel discomfort (often a pressure-like pain) in or around the chest, shoulders, jaw, neck, back, or arms. It may feel like a squeezing, pressing sensation in the chest; this pain usually lasts two to five minutes.
Other angina symptoms can include:
- Indigestion or heartburn-type sensation
- Nausea
- Fatigue
- Shortness of breath
- Sweating
- Lightheadedness
- Weakness.
Angina pain is an indication that some of the heart muscle is temporarily not getting enough blood. A heart attack, on the other hand, occurs when the blood flow to a part of the heart is suddenly and permanently cut off, usually by a blood clot. This can lead to serious heart damage.
Certain symptoms indicate that you are having a heart attack. If you have any of these symptoms, call 911 immediately:
- Pain or discomfort that is very bad, gets worse, and lasts longer than 20 minutes
- Pain or discomfort along with weakness, feeling sick to your stomach, sweating, or fainting
- Pain or discomfort that does not go away when you take angina medicine
- Pain or discomfort that is worse than you have ever had before.
Then there is a silent heart attack. A silent heart attack is a heart attack that has few, if any, symptoms. You may have never had any symptoms to warn you that you've developed a heart problem, such as chest pain or shortness of breath. Some people later recall their silent heart attack was mistaken for indigestion, nausea, muscle pain, or a bad case of the flu.
IMHO, I think it is time for you to revisit your Dr. at least for an EKG and some lab work. You will feel better if everything checks out OK and if you should have something going on seeing your Dr. now will allow for prompt treatment.
Remember to be your own best advocate and keep us posted on how you are doing. Also keep in mind that 911 is always you best choice if you feel like you may be having a heart attack as EMS has all the equipment on board to help you right away. Never feel you should tough out chest pain if it is causing you any symptoms.
Kindly,
Kitt
